Menabòh, a responsible fashion startup based in Florence, launched a special project within the company to talk about upcycling and possible experimentation.
The DIY Upcycling Studio consists of a step-by-step free PDF guide to transform and redefine waste together, making beautiful things from what would otherwise be thrown away or remain forgotten in a dark little corner of your house - and, of course, have FUN in the process!
The #1 project is the "Flower Power Statement Earrings", launched on July 29th. The whole conceptualisation of this idea gravitated towards being democratic and involved everyone using simple materials that require 0 technique and little time.
For project #2 "Grunge Party Purse", I reimagined the classic "make a tote bag out of an old t-shirt", glamming it up with a square shape and embellishments with safety pins, creating a pattern - this way you can change the pattern as you please, anytime you want!
We zhuzhed up the classic button-down shirt for project #4 "The Rococo Shirt", adding rouge to the buttons with strategic stitches following the pre-existing buttons.
Visual identity, upcycling, photos and videos developed by me.
